From humble beginings in 1990. Larry Otten has built his business to include unique custom homes, entire lifestyle community developments and occasionally spec homes.
His commitment to excellence regardless of the budget has earned Larry many awards over the past 23 years. He has the ability and knowledge to take your ideas and dreams for a new home and turn them into a reality.

It began for Larry in 1990 when he started his business. His focus was renovations, additions and subcontracting. His goal was serving customers through a process that minimized stress while creating improvements to his clients homes that would enhance their lifestyle. He realized very quickly that he had to build a strong rapport and relationship with each and everyone of his clients to fully understand what their “dream” was and gaining their trust to meet their expectations.
During that early time his skillset expanded as he established a reputation for a strong commitment to honesty and excellence. In 1992 he was registered with Ontario New Home Warranty to build his first home. Since that time he has expanded his repertoire to include new custom homes, spec homes, town home condominium developments, mid rise apartments, as well as commercial projects. These projects are not limited to Stratford, his home base, but can found in communitites all over Southwestern Ontario. Many have been recognized, through the Stratford and Area Builders Association for numerous awards; Most Outstanding New Home, Most Outstanding Multi-Residential Project, Energy Efficiency, to name just a few. He is very proud of his current project The Towns at Orchard Park in Goderich, ON. Larry included this development in a cross boarder challenge through the Sustainable Housing Foundation. The Towns at Orchard Park was recognized alongside Industry leading American and Canadian builders and given the “Green is 50 Builders’ Challenge Award” with an impressive HERS score of 42. On April 17, 2014 Larry Otten Contracting was honoured as a recipient of the Terion Customer Service Excellence Award- "the only awards in Ontario that recognize new home builders based solely on homeowners’ satisfaction with their customer service delivery".
On a personal note… Larry has been married to his wife Charlene for 24 years and has two daughters Hannah and Honour. He currently is the past president of SABA. His long term involvement with Home Builders Association’s has given him access to skills upgrades and the latest building science innovations. This in turn has increased the quality and service that he is able to provide while building your dream.
As you can gather, Larry is passionate about the business of ‘Building Your Dream’. He looks forward to working with you and will make sure every detail and option is presented allowing you to make very informed descions, that will ultimately make the entire build process less stressful, more rewarding and ensuring your new home fully complements your lifestyle.
