Living In Their Dream Home

After we decided to build a new home, we knew finding the right builder to work with would be the most important decision we made. It was not a decision we took lightly. After sitting down with Larry, we knew right away he was the one we wanted to work with. From the initial meeting, to designing a custom floor plan together, right through to completion of the build, we found Larry’s extensive knowledge, experience and attention to detail made the whole process an enjoyable one. We have been living in our new home for several months now and are extremely happy with his work. We highly recommend him to anyone thinking of building a new home.

A Happy New Home Owner

To whom it may concern:
My wife and I bought a new house built by Larry Otten in May of 2013. This house replaced one destroyed by the Goderich Tornado, so to begin with I would commend Larry for his ability to pick a house style and to site it to fit seamlessly into the oldest neigbourhood in Goderich.
I would call this an intuitive house – the design is beautiful in its simplicity and function. Everything about it makes sense to me and things are where they should be. In spite of buying the house finished and ready to move into, there is nothing that I would change. The interior finish and workmanship exceeds anything I would have expected for a home in the price range.
I am a bit of a fanatic about energy efficiency but I still want to be 100% comfortable. Larry gets top marks in this department as well. He built us an energy efficient house and installed quality efficient heating and cooling equipment. In spite of the worst winter in recent memory, with winds of Lake Huron that defy description, we have very low utility costs.
Larry exceeded my expectations on all levels and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, talented and efficient contractor.

The awards are based on the results of a comprehensive survey sent to almost 46,800 Ontario homeowners who took possession of a new home between October 1, 2012 and September 30, 2013. More than 6,400 survey responses were received, representing 14 per cent of consumers who bought a new home in Ontario during that time.  The results were tabulated by Crunch Research in partnership with Harris Decima.

Ontario Home Builders Association

The Ontario Home Builders' Association was formed in 1962 with 10 locals to give residential builders a voice in the provincial government, facilitate changes in the industry and provide networking opportunities for home-building businesses, suppliers and services.
Now, we are comprised of an Executive Committee, Board of Directors and nine different dynamic committees and councils. We have 30 local associations and 4,000 member companies across the province.
